Description

I experience more noise when calling a particular DID that is forwarded to sip2sip (arrive into an Asterisk 11.3.0-rc1).
The provider didnumbers says his systems are clean and enabled g729, but that did not help.

I have several DID numbers (one from didnumbers, others from sip.de.anveo.com) forwarded to my SIP2SIP account with various aliases:
(anveo) - quiet
(anveo) - quiet
(didnumbers) - white noise in background, also before line is answered

Do you have a tip for me why there is more background noise in calling the 972 number that forwards to ?
I do not think it is in your system, but where should I look?
Can it be the codec?
I use only ulaw and added that to sip2sip trunk setting.

You should look in the end-points. Out infrastructure relays IP packets and has no idea what codec is used for voice and what noise you hear.

Right, thanks.

It is interesting, but also difficult to analyse:
Today I forwarded the DID 972 (didnumbers.com) to and I experience no noise.
I only experience noise if I forward DID 972 to .

Could it be some kind of bad route between didnumbers.com and sip2sip.info?
How do I find out?

Noise has nothing to do with IP in general, SIP or SIP2SIP in particular. Is something in the audio path (microphone, codecs and such) and only the end-points can be debugged for this.
